Went fishing with Lucas for a couple hours at Barbers Pond. Limited options at this point and Trout are really the easiest and best thing going if you want to bend the rod a little. We fished for about 2 hours and ended up catching 8 fish total, a few Rainbows, a few Brookies, and one Atlantic Salmon. Size was decent as the state has been stocking some nice fish, a few of the rainbows were in the 18" range, and one of the Brookies I caught was around 16". The Atlantic Salmon was caught by Lucas, who saw a fish rise and casted to it and immediately got bit, and that fish was around 17". Everything worked, small Kastmaster, little Plug, Drop Shotted Pink Worm, and 3" Kietech all got bites. I was expecting it to be pretty slow but I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of bites we got, even if they are from the common State Stocked Trout. Have to take what you can get this time of year.
