3/24/24 Holy Wind

Updated: Apr 12, 2024

The wind lately has been insane. Northwest, Southeast.. gusting to 30, 40 or even 50mph depending on where you are, with a big storm that brought 1-2 inches of rain throughout the area. I really picked a great time to take a mini vacation to the south as I have gotten a taste of the adversity that is March Fishing. Water temps in Trenton were up over 50 a week ago but hit a low of 41 degrees this morning, with water levels rising at least a couple feet from the rain. Thats the story up and down the coast here, windy, dirty and cold. All that said, you can certainly still catch some fish, it's just not going to be as easy or as comfortable as you may hope. Really this amount of rain isn't going to be too detrimental to fishing the rivers or bays, North and West got less rain than south and east, and the rivers will recede quickly, though the further east you go, the greater the impact you'll see.
